1 - What current plans does your district have to improve student achievement?


The BOE adopted a bold Vision Statement, 3.09, that is transforming D100 to provide the best, quality educational experiences for our students to compete with the top performing districts in the State. As a result of the BOE’s action, D100 is:

  • utilizing SMART technologies to engage students
  • utilizing formative, common assessments to consistently monitor student progress and adjust instruction and intervention
  • expanding student activity and athletic opportunities for extended day engagement 
    aggressively soliciting parent, guardian engagement through Parent University, Dashboard and Parent Connect
  • reviewing “best practices” of top performing schools, districts with a broad representative community group, District Advisory Committee for Educational Excellence(DACEE), with the expressed commitment of adoption, implementation to exceed the D100 Vision Statement
2 – Briefly summarize three factors unique to your district that inhibit student performance?

Excepting the qualifier “unique,” adult expectations, resources and space inhibit student performance.

3 – What successes do you see reflected in recent scores?

Opportunity.

4 – How has your district engaged the community in improving the district and what are you doing to make your schools a more attractive educational option for residents?

Berwyn South School District 100 will rank within the top 25% of schools in the State of Illinois as evidenced by state testing.
